The British Consul-General's Scholarship Award BSG Guangzhou 02-04-2010

The scholarship programme accepts a new scholar every year and covers the costs of their schooling through to the end of secondary school. Scholars are selected by the Headteacher and the British Consul-General.

 
Full scholarships include all fees, materials, uniforms and lunches.

 
The scholarship is open to children who are:

 
14 years of age as of September 1st, 2010.

 

Able to demonstrate high academic potential and gifted in music and/or sport.

 

The scholarship is awarded to a student from a lower income family who could not normally afford to attend the school but who shows the potential for academic excellence.

 

To apply:

 

Please complete an online application form here and send an application letter to the address below marked “The British Consul-General’s Scholarship Award”:

 

The British School of Guangzhou, 983-3 Tonghe Road, Nanhu, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, 510515. China.

 

Please include in the application the following:


(i) A hand written letter from your child telling us why they would like to be considered for the scholarship.


(ii) Your child's school records.


(iii) The names and phone numbers of their Headteacher and a personal referee.


(iv) Evidence of your family income including contact information for your employer(s).
Applications close on June 4th, 2010.

 

Following receipt of applications, selected applicants will be invited to school for an entrance examination.
Following the examination , three final applicants will then be interviewed by the British Consul-General and the Headmaster of the British School of Guangzhou.
