The scholarship programme accepts a new scholar every year and covers the costs of their schooling through to the end of secondary school. This is a full scholarship that includes all school fees, learning materials, uniforms and lunch costs.

The scholarship is awarded to a student from a lower income family who could not normally afford to attend the school but who shows the potential for academic excellence and a musical and/or sporting talent. Scholars are selected by the Head Teacher and the British Consul-General.

This year's scholarship will be awarded to an eligible candidate who is 14 years of age as of September 1st, 2012. The successful student will be enrolled starting from Year 10 at the start of term 1 next year.

Please complete an on-line application form and send an application letter to the address below marked “The British Consul-General’s Scholarship Award”.

Please include in the application the following:

1. A hand written letter from your child telling us why they would like to be considered for the scholarship.
2. Your child's school records.
3. The names and phone numbers of their Head Teacher and a personal referee.
4. Evidence of your family income including contact information for your employer(s).

Following receipt of applications, selected applicants will be invited to school for an entrance examination. Three final applicants will then be interviewed by the British Consul-General and the Head Teacher of the British School of Guangzhou for final selection.
