The British School of Guangzhou is an independent, British-run organisation established to provide high value education to the expatriate community of Guangzhou. The school was established in 2005 in response to demand from the local international community, at a time when no other school in Guangzhou was offering British education. Its principal aim continues to be the provision of excellent educational based on the English National Curriculum. The school is governed by a Board of Directors of The British Schools Group (See Our Group Section) that delegates powers for the day to day running of the school on the Head Teacher. The British School of Guangzhou is a member of EAABIS (East Asian Association of British International Schools), an affiliate
member of COBIS (Council of British International Schools) and a member
of the British Schools Group. The British School of Guangzhou is registered at the Qualification and Curriculum Authority in the UK (Register number: 1880003) and is fully licensed by the Chinese Ministry of Education. |
![]() Under our new Headmaster, Mr Mark Thomas the school has recently held the official opening ceremony for the upper school. Held on November the 13th 2009 (almost three years exactly after the first opening), Mr Brian Davidson was again the guest of honour who unvelied the plaque and declared the new upper school campus officially open. |
